Most people-pleasers are extraordinarily caring, often forgetting to care for themselves. Compassion isn’t selfish – it’s essential.
Extending kindness to yourself retrains your nervous system to recognise safety from within. Even small acts – a pause, gentle boundaries, or noticing your needs – help your body learn that safety doesn’t have to come from keeping others happy.
Start small. Choose one compassionate action each day. Your nervous system will gradually adjust, and you’ll feel more grounded and balanced.
Reflection Prompt:
“What is one small act of kindness I can offer myself today?”
Mini Tool:
Close your eyes for one minute and place your hand over your heart. Say softly: “I am allowed to care for myself.” Here's a wonderful reminder that you matter too: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SQr7v8MPlns
Understanding and practicing self-compassion is the foundation. Soon, a dedicated space will offer structured tools for people-pleasers to nurture themselves consistently. Let me know if this is something you would like to be part of
